With the start of the New Year it’s always wise to tend to your skin and invest in some quality products – and that also means throwing away the make-up shovel! Anne is just radiant in this pic, and it’s down to a good beauty regime and minimal face paint.
Firstly, treat your hair to some posh products. Bumble and Bumble make expensive shampoos and conditioners, but it’s worth spending the extra to achieve Hollywood-style gloss and glamour. Their Sunday Special Shampoo used once a week is a great investment – it will rid your locks of impurities, product residue and excess oil and it’ll last ages too. Use this with BB’s Deep Treatment Conditioner (a once a week hair mask), and you can hope for tumbling, shiny tresses just like Miss Hathaway’s.
Anne’s make-up is very natural – so avoid foundation and instead go for a few smudges of Revlon’s Skinlight cream on cheeks and brow bones (it’s available in five shades). This versatile cream is a favourite amongst beauty editors, and it’s also a bargain for under a tenner. For wide, bright eyes, a soft kohl pencil is essential. Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Eye Pencil delivers a delicate line across bottom and top lids, and also has a built-in smudger for those who prefer a bad girl look. On lids, experiment with Estee Lauder’s Eye Sparkle, an easy-to-apply gel that is comes in a lovely champagne shade called Golden Seduction (limited edition so hurry!). Finally for rosy cheeks, nothing quite beats Ruby and Millie’s Face Gloss, which you can also apply to lips and lids. Take a lead from Anne and think pink for Spring -- you’ll shake those winter blues in no time.
