Wild Young Hearts

Noisettes

In a nutshell

Only about six people had heard of the Noisettes a few months ago, then their song, Don’t Upset the Rhythm, got used in a car ad and suddenly they’re all over the radio and have a bona fide hit on their hands , thank you very much. But are they destined to be one-hit wonders or are they really the next big thing?

What’s it like?

Like all the best pop albums there’s a bit of everything here. There’s dance/rock in the shape of the single Don’t Upset The Rhythm and Wild Young Hearts, Never Forget You is pure 60’s soul, Sometimes and 24 Hours have a gorgeous chilled out vibe, and Saturday Night is a big electro stomper. Front woman Shingai Shoniwa (isn’t that the best name in pop, like, ever?) used to live (and write) with Adele and it shows on the gorgeous ballad Every Now And Then. Despite the different styles, the band’s own distinct flavour runs through all the tracks and we reckon there’s at least another three hit singles on here (and they won’t need to advertise cars to get them heard).
