Ashanti obviously isn't the kind of girl to settle for her lot in life. She's only been around the music scene since 2002 but already the R'n'B superstar's set her sights on a side career in the film industry. Her debut role in Coach Carter sees her playing opposite Hollywood legend Samuel L. Jackson, but even that doesn't faze her. Besides, says Ashanti, if it doesn't work out, she can always try Forensic Science!
Coach Carter is your first film. How was it?
It was a wonderful experience. I think a lot had to do with me being comfortable with the cast. You know, sometimes people kind of shy away from you, just because you're an artist or a singer or whatever. But, everyone really made me feel really comfortable from the people that worked in the hair and makeup trailer to the actual cast. I think that, that was a, a positive thing for me!
