why aren't doctors, nurses, firemen etc, celebrities? they are the ones who are doing something worthy and actually making a difference in people's lives. |

But the government doesn't fund footballers' wages, their clubs do so you can't really compare the two.
I have the utmost respect for what nurses, firmen, etc. do but I don't think that means they should be celebrities and I don't think they'd want to be either. Plenty of people are good at their jobs, but that doesn't mean they should become famous. And is anyone really going to buy a Heat-style style magazine about nurses? I think it's so unfair that doctors/nurses/fireman/police etc are out there saving lives and protecting us all every day, yet prats like Ronaldo are being paid a fortune to kick a bit of leather. If the government doesn't have enough money to pay nurses etc more, then footballers should definitely be paid less.
As for them being celebrities, it wouldn't really work as they wouldn't really be able to do their jobs then, and no ones interested in reading about their lives. Saying that, I'm not actually interested in reading about celebrities lives either. |

who cares what nurses/doctors do in their day to day lives though. they do do good things definatly and deserve a better pay but i dont think id want to read about them in the papers. |

because thats not how we work... why do we care what nurses or doctors do on a day to day basis? i agree they should definitely get paid more
my dad worked it out he'd need to work for 6 years to get paid what ronaldo gets paid in a week. 6YEARS how pathetic all ronaldo does is chase a ball around a field.
and what nurses and doctors ect do they may want to keep private from the publichapbr />x x |

They definatly should get paid more, yerrrrr.
It's so frustrating to see footballers running around a football pitch for a couple of hours and getting paid loads of money.
And then you get people saving other peoples lives and they're only getting paid a fraction of what these footballers are.
gahhhhhh it annoys the hell out of me.
