Right ladies, summer is here. Well, according to the date that is – it seems the sun and rain haven’t quite twigged yet, but we live in hope..! Happily, there’s one thing the weather can’t spoil for us, and that’s the fact must of us have six weeks off from school and college. Yippee!
So for any of you at a loss as to what to do with the remainder of your 60,480 minutes of holiday (yep, that’s how long you’ve got, the clock’s ticking!) here’s a plan – get fit and run the Adidas Women’s 5km Challenge.
Officially the biggest women’s-only 5km race in the UK, the Adidas Women’s 5km Challenge is open to women of all ages and running abilities and is set to take place simultaneously in London’s Hyde Park, Birmingham City Centre and Liverpool’s Sefton Park on Sunday 7th September.
This year the preferred charity is Breakthrough Breast Cancer, which is a fantastic charity committed to fighting breast cancer through research, campaigning and education.
Whether you’re new to running and looking for a challenge or after a great excuse to raise money for charity, we think it’s the perfect way to get in shape whilst making a difference. And if that isn’t motivation enough, Olympic athletes Jessica Ennis, Liz Yelling and Goldie Sayers are running too, along with a long list of celebrity runners and thousands of women.
So we reckon you should sign up now and maybe even encourage a group of friends and family to join you too. It’s the biggest and best women-only fun run in the UK, and raises money for a really worthwhile charity. For more information visit: www.womenschallenge.co.uk or call: 020 7025 2483. Come on girls, get your running shoes on!
